Austrians, specialists in ski infrastructure, in 1975 built the first ski slopes and lifts in our region, and in 1988 built the hotel of the famous brand “Marco Polo”, laying the foundation of one of the most promising ski resorts in Georgia.

What was so unusual for the Austrians in Gudauri? Why do many skiers and snowboarders prefer Gudauri to the Alps these days?

There’s something more than just good ski slopes. They are surrounded by endless virgin fields and a variety of routes of different complexity, providing ample opportunities for freeriding, back country, heli-ski, speedriding, snowkiting and skittering – covering the full range of Backcountry skiing.

The lower station is located at an altitude of 1990 m. The peak of Kudebi is located higher, its height is 3007 m. The highest station is Sadzeli Mountain, its height is 3307 m. There is a view of sleeping volcano Kazbegi – 5054 m. Over the past 5 years, the resort is rapidly developing both as a service and infrastructure expansion, the total length of its tracks has already reached 50 kilometers, and the longest slope has exceeded 7 km. The infrastructure promises to reach its peak by 2023, when the Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships will be held in Gudauri.
