#loftgranaryboard

“Loft” style is not only bare brickwork and deliberate details made of metal. It’s also wood, old wood. With the help of panels from old wood, the loft space is now zoned, and false panels give it a special geometry. The old wood decorates the loft with new brutality, its texture itself becomes a decorative element.

Even a simple panel picture on a brick wall is a bright accent that allows a feeling of cold to pass and there is no desire to be wrapped in a blanket. Decorators everywhere are looking for interior items made from a barn board – clocks, cachepot and shelves, consoles and drawers, tables and other furniture.

If you need space to relax and party, distract from your office routine, choose the loft style. This style is definitely in trend.

The barn board is an old wood from which barns, village huts, stables, mills and other buildings were once built. This old board is also called greyboard, because of its color, which was caused by the influence of winds, rain and sunlight. Old buildings are usually demolished, replaced by newer ones, which releases a huge amount of material such as the barn board. Such a board bears traces of time – chips scraped, nail and hook marks, old paint (sometimes in several layers). For many decades, these boards absorbed moisture and dried up, the sun heated them and cooled by frost. That’s why a barn board is a well-established wood, which is no longer afraid of temperature changes and high humidity. It can be used for exterior and interior work, in bathrooms and kitchens. The structure of each grey board is unique – it is always a unique pattern of wood fibers, knots, scratches, nail marks and abrasions. It is for these qualities that the barn board is so highly valued and is the basis for such design solutions as the Loft style.
